6 months Old

Well on Dec. 24 Christmas eve my baby Gavin turned 6 months old :( I am still so surprised how fast these kids grow you blink and there all grown up I guess I still have just begun, but if it has gone this fast thus far what do I expect to come .. Now I know how my parents felt and what a sad thing it is...
My baby is still not rolling over or crawling or anything big , but he does have the cutest smile ever and he loves his big brother and every morning he wakes up and I go in to get him and stand by his bed and say.. "Good morning, I see you" and the most sweet little giggle and the most presious smile I get in return melts my heart everytime....He loves to play with his toys and always has his hands in his mouth, but his favorite thing is the swing that our wonderful friends and neighbors bought him...Thank you all and we love you!!!

Gavin is still small for his age I guess you could say his is finally 10lbs...Yippy, but he is doing great and growing good...
We are just starting hard foods and doesn't seem to really be interested yet!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Father! - to God himself we cannot give a holier name. ~William Wordsworth

Today is my dads birthday and I love him so much I can't even begin to say what comes to my mind and all that he has done for me and taught me. This man I call Dad would do anything for anybody and not say a word, never complain, always looking for the good in people I love him so very much and I have to say I am the luckest person in the world to be able to call him my DAD.

I can remember when we were little and we would get in trouble and Mom would say "Rick go spank them and take care of it." His reply always "Yes dear" Dad would take us in our room and softly say "When I hit the bed scream as loud as you can." This is the man that I looked up to growing up the man I ran to when I was hurt, the man that was always there and you knew he loved you when you looked into his eyes....

I love you dad you are an amazing man a wonderful example to many, Happy Birthday DAD!!! :D

ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES

When God was creating fathers, He started with a tall frame. An angel nearby said, "What kind of father is that? If you’re going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put fathers up so high? He won’t be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed without bending, or even kiss a child without a lot of stooping." God smiled, "Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to?" When God made a father’s hands, they were large and sinewy. The angel shook her head sadly and said, "Do You know what You’re doing? Large hands are clumsy. They can’t manage diaper pins, small buttons, or rubber bands on pony tails." God smiled, "I know, but they’re large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets at the end of a day… yet small enough to cup a child’s face." Then God molded long legs and broad shoulders. The angel nearby said, "Do You realize You just made a father without a lap? How will he pull a child close to him without the kid falling between his legs?" God smiled and replied, "A mother needs a lap. A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, balance a boy on a bicycle or hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus." God then created two very large feet. "Do You honestly think those feet are going to dig out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries? Or walk through a small birthday party without crushing at least three of the guests?" the angel said. God smiled: "They’ll support a child learning how to dance, and they will have shoes that young children can play in like clowns." God worked through the night, giving fathers few words but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that see everything, but remain calm and tolerant. Finally, He added tears, then turned to the angel, "Now are you satisfied?" The angel was silent.

Gavin's Blessing

This past Sunday we were able to finally have Gavin Blessed by my Dad Rick, He did a beautiful job and I am so grateful to him being able to bless both my boys while Jesse is working toward that goal of holding the priesthood one day sooner then later... I am so happy for our family and friends that set wonderful examples to us and our children thank you so much for all you do we love each and everyone of you...It was a great day we had a breakfast at my parents home after so I ran to get things ready right after the blessing while my Grandpa N got up and bore his testimony for the first time in over 35 years and I missed it I am so upset, but so very proud of him and his testimony that he has.. Both my parents got up as well I guess that shows me trying to sneak out early and miss it all..lol Riley was so proud of his little brother and so happy to see all the family and friends he kept looking around the church and saying "are they family too mom?" and with a smile I would say "They are all family everyone of them."

I don't have any pics of that day yet downloaded but here are a few I got taken in his blessing outfit..

Again thank you all for all the love and support and the examples that you are for our family we love you all!! :D

RESPECT

Ok, so I am a little unhappy & like many have concerns..... and then someone shared this with me and I agree with it in every way we can make a difference .. So I decided that I need to step up and try; because I do think that Bush was treated unfar in a lot of ways and we all make mistakes. It doesn't mean I am not worried about a lot of things to come, or that I am not concerned about a lot of things; But he is that president and does need respect and IF he is successful it benifits us ALL...
*****************************************************

*******************************************************

Right now few things are a greater threat to our country than the venomous anger we express toward other Americans with whom we disagree. Many politicians and pundits write off such division saying that it's what's great about America, but this kind of bitter division is not a positive expression of our freedom.

For eight years many Christians and conservatives did everything in their power to destroy Bill Clinton justifying it as righteous protesting. Over the course of the following eight years liberals did everything in their power to discredit and undermine George W. Bush. Neither of these two presidents were anywhere near perfect, but they were (are) the president of our country. What this means is that for 16 years half of the country has had a vested interest in seeing the president utterly fail and many have acted to ensure that he would.

It's time to reverse the trend. Today, someone will be elected our next president and a large minority will not get their way. This group is devoted to the idea that the president is worthy of respect and that our country is better off when people of all political persuasions support him (or her).

The president of the United States should be treated with respect for the following reasons:

1) Whether we like him or not, he was selected by the majority of our peers. Their opinions matter and should be regarded as important.

2) Whether we like him or not, he is the most powerful person in the world. That power must be acknowledged.

3) Whether we like him or not, he is uniquely positioned to do great good.

4) Whether we like him or not, he is the caretaker of our country. It benefits us all if he is successful.

5) Whether we like him or not, he is our ambassador to the world. It speaks well of us to the rest of the world if we esteem the leader we chose.

6) Whether we like him or not, treating him with dignity and honor nurtures a national environment of harmony and, when appropriate, respectful disagreement. Conversely, despising and deriding the president compromises our ability to engage in honest discussion for the greater good and causes us to deteriorate into a nation that is easily manipulated by the powerful. It may seem like a stretch, but I'm convinced that respecting our president lessens the influence of the often inflammatory and manipulative media.

7) Whether we like him or not, respecting our president sets a precedent of respect between us all.

8) Whether we like him or not, it is in our religious DNA to honor the president. Christians especially engage in willful sin when the curse, dishonor, and slander the president. For people of many religious persuasions it is morally right and even a command of God to show right respect to the president.

With this in mind, I urge those whose candidate does not win to handle the defeat with maturity and class. Further though, I urge those voters whose candidate is defeated to support the winner. We should actively root for his success and for the success of his policies. When he succeeds, we succeed.

None of this is to say that we must agree with the president. There are two categories of disagreement that I think we should conceive of differently. The first is disagreement regarding the means of achieving agreed upon goals. While I may be convinced that one economic system is the way to economic success; I should still support a president who advocates another system, but still seeks economic success. The second type of disagreement is over social and moral issues. Though I may never agree with a pro-choice president on the issue of abortion, I can express that disagreement lawfully and respectfully knowing that reasoned debate and honest persuasion will accomplish much more than hateful words. Either way, we're entitled to disagreement, but we should disagree constructively and never seek to undermine our president with our words or actions.

It's time for us to respect the president again; whether it be in agreement or in disagreement. It's time for us to root for his policies and root for America even if it makes our side look bad.Join us in restoring civility, brotherly and sisterly respect, patriotism, and healthy discussion to American politics and culture. This is an open group. Please invite anyone and everyone.Let's make today the beginning of a new way of speaking, acting, and thinking politically.- Matt W., U.S.American

4 months already

I can't believe that my baby is now 4 months old he is doing so well we went to his doctors appointment last monday and he now weighs 8lbs 5oz and is 22.5 inches long he got his 4 month immunizations and was amazing hardly cried at all I think it is harder on me then it is him..lol
He loves to chew on things and sit up and look around he is very alert when he is awake, he still sleeps a lot, but is such a smiley babe when he is awake I have to say mornings are my favorite there is nothing like waking up to that sweet ahhh and you look in and he is grinning ear to ear.
We still have a ways to go we have to do the synagis shots for the RSV season every month for the next 5 months and keep him in as much as possible, but if he can stay healthy and continue to grow I have nothing to complain about at all; thank heavens I have a wonderful husband that is willing to let me stay home with the boys.

Something that really is close to my heart

Dear Friends & Family,
I encourage you... no, I am BEGGING you to take the time to visit this link & give this VERY important issue some thought. I am truly thankful to Alissa for taking the time to make this video. And to Veronica for passing it to me..This matter is VERY dear to my heart & the video was painful for me, but I was so blessed by it. I hope & pray that you all will take the time to watch this & search your conscience in the matter. Many of you know my Two boys were born early very early one at 27 weeks ( 3lbs 5oz )and one at 30 weeks (2lbs 2oz )this is ( 3 1/2 ) months early I did not choose for them to be born so early, but my body, for whatever reason, rejected my pregnancy & I was forced into early C-Section. Riley and Gavin would NOT have survived this without the amazing medical team that was there to rescue him. They both fought hard to survive & I am very blessed to have both my little boys healthy and strong today. The babies that are affected by this are NO different then my very own sons & they deserve the SAME chance to fight!!! It boggles my mind that ANYONE would not believe that. This is why I am passing this video on to you... you need to see it.. NOW!!! Thank you, Alissa and Veronica!!!!!Tineil

They all desearve a chance to fight!!! I don't know what I would do without my boys!!
