Happy Birthday Dad!!

Father! - to God himself we cannot give a holier name. ~William Wordsworth

Today is my dads birthday and I love him so much I can't even begin to say what comes to my mind and all that he has done for me and taught me. This man I call Dad would do anything for anybody and not say a word, never complain, always looking for the good in people I love him so very much and I have to say I am the luckest person in the world to be able to call him my DAD.

I can remember when we were little and we would get in trouble and Mom would say "Rick go spank them and take care of it." His reply always "Yes dear" Dad would take us in our room and softly say "When I hit the bed scream as loud as you can." This is the man that I looked up to growing up the man I ran to when I was hurt, the man that was always there and you knew he loved you when you looked into his eyes....

I love you dad you are an amazing man a wonderful example to many, Happy Birthday DAD!!! :D

ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES

When God was creating fathers, He started with a tall frame. An angel nearby said, "What kind of father is that? If you’re going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put fathers up so high? He won’t be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed without bending, or even kiss a child without a lot of stooping." God smiled, "Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to?" When God made a father’s hands, they were large and sinewy. The angel shook her head sadly and said, "Do You know what You’re doing? Large hands are clumsy. They can’t manage diaper pins, small buttons, or rubber bands on pony tails." God smiled, "I know, but they’re large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets at the end of a day… yet small enough to cup a child’s face." Then God molded long legs and broad shoulders. The angel nearby said, "Do You realize You just made a father without a lap? How will he pull a child close to him without the kid falling between his legs?" God smiled and replied, "A mother needs a lap. A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, balance a boy on a bicycle or hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus." God then created two very large feet. "Do You honestly think those feet are going to dig out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries? Or walk through a small birthday party without crushing at least three of the guests?" the angel said. God smiled: "They’ll support a child learning how to dance, and they will have shoes that young children can play in like clowns." God worked through the night, giving fathers few words but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that see everything, but remain calm and tolerant. Finally, He added tears, then turned to the angel, "Now are you satisfied?" The angel was silent.

Your dad is one of my heroes, Tineil, and I have very few heroes. I'm so glad I adopted you all to be my family.

I love you!
